The XTAR LC4 is a fully compatible 4-channel smart charger for 1.5 V Li-ion cells. Thanks to advanced electronics, the charger can charge AA and AAA batteries. The MCU-controlled smart charging functions allow you to select the right charging current according to the input power, ultimately protecting both the batteries and the charger from overheating and damage. The charging process regulates the voltage and current supplied to the batteries in three automatic stages (TC/CC/CV) to optimise charging and minimise energy consumption. Thanks to the integrated LED, the device indicates the charging status. The special design with a hollow body dissipates heat better to protect the charger and the cells to be charged. The device is powered by the USB-C input and can be connected to any 5 V USB port (recommended 5 V-2 A). The XTAR LC4 is a convenient and functional charger for travel and home use. • The charger does not charge 3.6 V / 3.7 V Li-ion batteries.
• The charger uses the TC/CC/CV charging algorithm, which is a charging process for Li-ION cells that ensures good cell condition. It includes charging at the right current as well as completing the charge at the right time. The TC/CC/CV charging steps can be divided into:
• TC phase: the initial phase to check and re-energise a cell whose voltage has dropped below 2,9 V
• CC phase: the cell is then charged at a constant current of 50 mA to 500 mA (depending on the power supply connected).
• CV phase: the charger then proceeds to charge at a decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4,2 V. When the cell voltage reaches 4,2 V, the charging is complete and the battery is fully charged.
