Blade

Opinel No. 7 knife has a blade length of 8 cm. The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel, modified by Sandvik and adapted to Opinel knives, and is renowned for its extremely high quality and easy daily maintenance. The steel is hardened by heat treatment with martensitic hardening. The carbon content of this steel is at least 0,40 %, which makes the blade of high quality and resistant to corrosion.

Handle 

The handle is made of French starch, which has a smooth texture with minimal veins and is ideal for painting. The handle is lacquered to protect the wood from moisture and dirt. The colour is pink. 

Virobloc protective ring

 „My first Opinel“ knife No. 7, like all other Opinel curved knives from No. 6 onwards, is equipped with the Virobloc safety ring invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc ring, which is cut from stainless steel, consists of two parts: a fixed and a sliding part. The blade is fixed in both a folded position (for safe handling) and a folded position (for safety during transport).
