Night fishing

The dawn of the evening is coming to an end. It's getting dark. Most fishermen gather supplies and return home or scatter to cozy campfires and tents to continue fishing in the morning. Night fishing, meanwhile, is no less exciting and rewarding than daytime fishing.

Night fishing also has a number of obvious advantages: fewer people on the coast, no midday sun, and many very careful and weighty fish kingdoms go hunting in the dark at night, leaving their secluded day camps. The most popular night fishing gear are spinning, float and bottom fishing rods. Night fishing gives an indescribable feeling, but it also requires some psychological and technical preparation. The growing popularity of predator fishing in the nocturnal part of the spinning is mainly practiced in large and medium-sized rivers.

An important detail of night fishing, lighting

Now you can buy a flashlight anywhere: in electrical stores, in the market. However, a cheap household light source is of little use for night fishing. We need a high quality flashlight that best suits the conditions under which it will be used. They are sold in specialty stores for hunting or fishing. Here the quality of goods is higher, and there is a choice.

The most popular flashlights are Led Lenser, Fenix, Petzl, Nitecore, Armytek and other manufacturers All of them differ in appearance, size, design, power and of course the price. Which to choose?

Holding in the hand or on the forehead

Manufacturers offer several design options. With small hand-held models, you can quickly and accurately direct a bright beam to a desired point. At the same time, only one hand remains free, inconvenient to work with the tool. That’s why it’s better to use headlights when fishing. They are conveniently attached to the head and shine in the direction the person is looking. Controlling the flow of light in them is a bit difficult, but the hands are not busy.

Camping lights with a pole have also worked well for night fishing. They do a great job of illuminating a fisherman's workplace.

Service time . The continuous operation time of the LED is 50,000 hours or more. For an incandescent lamp, 5,000 hours is a good figure, and 7,000-8,000 is almost a record.

Focusing. Unlike many lamps, their LED analogues emit even light and illuminate the area more evenly.

Dimensions. Despite the high power, most LED luminaires are compact in size, lightweight and easy to use, there are even miniature models.

Batteries or rechargeable batteries

Replacement batteries or rechargeable batteries are used to power the flashlights. The first species is more suitable for those who fish only occasionally at night, only a few times a season. If the device is used in up to 10 lumens mode, one set of batteries lasts up to 60-70 hours. That’s about 2-3 fishing trips.

Passionate night fishing fans will benefit from the use of rechargeable flashlights, otherwise the batteries will have to be purchased frequently and in large quantities. It is advisable to charge the battery not only from the mains but also from the car's cigarette lighter. With such a device you can go to the pond for at least a week. There are even models with built-in solar panels. By size, they are bigger than usual, but more economical - I loaded during the day and use it at night for my pleasure.

Reliability

Special fishing conditions. Various unforeseen situations often arise in the fishing process, sometimes the weather does not like. Therefore, it is important that the flashlight is not only bright and comfortable, but also resistant to shocks and water. They cost money, such models are more expensive, but they don’t care about shocks, water, dirt, high and low temperatures.

Happy fishing!
