Features:
Blade
The Opinel No.7 knife has a blade length of 8 cm. The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel, modified by Sandvik and adapted to Opinel knives, and is renowned for its extremely high quality and easy daily maintenance. The steel is hardened by heat treatment with martensitic hardening. With a carbon content of at least 0.40%, the blade is of high quality and corrosion resistant.
Handle
For the handles Opinel usually chooses beech wood. Beech trees grown on French farms are hard, resistant to external influences and easy to handle. The wood has a homogeneous appearance and its light colour can vary from yellow to pink. Beech wood can be identified by its numerous dark streaks. The handle is varnished to protect it from moisture and dirt.
