The Kershaw Steppe 2048 knife is an ideal EDC (Every Day Carry) tool with a full tang design, a blade made of hard D2 tool steel and a comfortable polypropylene handle.
Kershaw Steppe designed for heavy duty use
Kershaw Steppe 2048 has a Full Tang construction , which means that it is made of a single piece of steel. Knives with this construction are extremely resistant to damage and are not afraid of hard work, which is why they are widely used by survival and bushcraft enthusiasts, as well as hunters and soldiers. The knife is cut from hard D2 carbon steel, which cuts very aggressively, is highly resistant to abrasion and wear, and maintains its sharpness for a long time, so it will work perfectly even as an outdoor tool and EDC knife.
Highly hardened D2 steel, despite being a carbon steel, also has high corrosion resistance, which is due to the increased chromium content and the admixture of vanadium.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth purchasing a diamond sharpener, because sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very time-consuming and ineffective.
Kershaw Steppe equipped with a special hole for better knife control
The blade with a typically universal Drop Point profile is 90 mm long and 3.3 mm thick, making the knife useful for both food preparation and wood batoning. A section of the spine has crosswise millings, providing a solid point of support for the thumb.
Additionally, the blade has a special hole cut out that allows you to put your finger through it for better control when operating the knife.
The blade has a very practical finish, the so-called Stonewashed, which is made by bathing the blade in gravel or small abrasive stones. The irregular structure obtained in this way very well masks scratches and abrasions caused by use.
Comfortable grip for an EDC knife
The rubberized polypropylene linings are attached to the shaft with 2 steel screws. The profiled shape of the handle, the thumb cutout and the gridded texturing provide a stable and comfortable grip of the knife. There is a hole in the rear part of the handle, which can be used as a lanyard attachment or a paracord tail.
The knife comes with a solid plastic sheath compatible with the Tek-Lok mounting system, allowing the knife to be carried horizontally or vertically.
