Civivi Baby Banter is a handy and solid folding knife that perfectly fits the assumptions of EDC equipment. A simple form, wide handle, Nitro-V steel and G10 material are an ergonomic combination that guarantees comfort and durability. The knife was designed by experienced knifemaker Ben Petersen.    

Civivi Baby Banter folding knife – steel

The Civivi Baby Banter blade is made of  Nitro-V . It is a stainless, martensitic steel with a high chromium content. The alloy was enriched with nitrogen and vanadium. This increased the hardness of the material while reducing its susceptibility to corrosion. Due to the last property, Nito V is used in tools used in humid environments. Steel works very well as a material used in the production of tactical, hunting and EDC knives. It was hardened in the range of 58 to 60 HRC.

The knife has a widely used and proven  Drop Point blade . A clearly marked belly, combined with a high and concave cut, makes the knife cut perfectly. A fragment of the spine of the blade was covered with the so-called upper jimping , i.e. corrugation that allows you to safely rest your thumb. This makes it easier to manipulate the folder, especially when doing work requiring greater precision and pressure. There is a finger choil on the blade, between the upper part of the handle and the cutting edge, which also makes it easier to operate the knife. 

Stonewash

The blade is finished with the Gray  Stonewash method . This means that it has been covered with a black coating. The finish protects against corrosion.

The folder is equipped with  ceramic ball bearings that support the operation of the knife opening mechanism. The designer used a nested liner lock. This is a modification of a well-known mechanism, which involves mounting it on the lining.  

The knife opens with a titanium  thumb stud .

The handle of the Civivi Baby Banter is made of  green G10 material . It is a composite made of glass fiber and synthetic resin. It is characterized by low weight and high resistance to mechanical damage. The rough texture of the lining makes the knife fit securely even in a tired and sweaty hand.  The open backed design of the body makes it easier to clean and oil the knife. At the bottom of the handle there is  a hole for a rope or leash , and at the top there is a small brand logo.

The manufacturer also ensured that the knife can be conveniently transported by equipping it with  a double-sided clip . It is designed so that the tool almost does not protrude from the pocket and is not conspicuous.

The folder can also be carried in a zippered  nylon case . The manufacturer remembered about a microfiber cloth that will help clean the tool.
