The everActive CBC-5 is a universal and fully automatic 7-stage battery charger for all types of lead-acid, gel and AGM 6/12V batteries with capacities from 1.2Ah to 120Ah. Thanks to new technologies, this charger is smaller, much more reliable than the old generation chargers and much more efficient, saving you energy costs during charging.

The charger is "smart" - controlled by a microprocessor, so you don't have to worry about monitoring the charging time or worry about overcharging. Once the charging process is complete, the charger switches to voltage monitoring mode, making it 100% reliable. The CBC-4's charging performance is on a par with the parameters and functionality of the highest level professional chargers, which not only makes it possible not to worry about malfunctions of an improperly charged battery, but on the contrary extends the battery's lifetime.

The charger uses innovative technologies:

•     Automated and reliable charge control - when a certain voltage is reached, or automatic charging current drop detection.
•     Voltage monitoring at the end of the charging process - activates the ultra-low charging current phase, allowing the battery to be kept fully charged when left for longer periods of time.
•     The charger eliminates the phenomenon of battery sulphation that can occur during charging.
•     Winter mode - to ensure a full and efficient charge of the battery, even at low ambient temperatures.
•     Refresh" mode - a special charging mode for extremely depleted batteries, the charger uses a limited charging current of a single pulse to a safe voltage, allowing faster charging - the charger automatically decides when and if this mode should be used.
•     The charger is equipped with protection against short circuit, reversal of polarity, overheating.and overload.

7 charging stages

The first step is to determine the type of battery and its voltage. By pressing the MODE button the charging mode can be selected. The charger evaluates the battery condition and the possible selection of a "recovery" mode.

The next step is to charge the battery with a current of 0,8/3,8A depending on the selected or default setting of the charger.

During charging, the charging current is controlled by gradually reducing the current as the voltage increases.

In the final stage of charging, the charging current is 0,8A, which ensures that the battery is protected against gas expansion inside the battery. When the voltage reaches 14,4/14,7V (12V batteries) or 7,3V (6V batteries), charging is stopped.

The last step is to monitor the voltage. Leaving the battery charged for a longer period of time may cause the voltage to drop to 12.6V (12V) / 6.3V (6V) due to the self-discharge process. In this case, the charger switches on a minimum current to protect the battery from further discharge.
